Diabetes refers to a group of diseases that affects how the body uses blood sugar (glucose). Glucose is a vital energy source for the brain, and for the cells that make up muscle and tissue. Diabetes indicates an excess of glucose in the blood, which can lead to serious health problems.
Immunity Therapy Center treats type 1 and type 2 diabetes. In type 2 diabetes (the most common form), cells become insulin resistant. At first, the pancreas will create extra insulin to compensate. Over time, it will not be able to keep up. The body is then unable to properly regulate blood glucose levels. It is believed genetic and environmental factors play a role in the development of all forms of diabetes.
Diabetes symptoms may include:

- Frequent urination
- Extreme hunger
- Unexplained weight loss
- Ketones in urine (ketones are a byproduct of the breakdown of muscle and fat that occurs with insufficient levels of available insulin)

- Irritability
- Blurred vision
