Intratumoral immunotherapy serves as an alternative therapy to traditional cancer treatment, and it essentially utilizes the patient’s own immune system to target cancer cells and inhibit tumor growth. Intratumoral Immunotherapy is guided by a CT scan and intratumoral drug delivery is done by injecting antibodies directly into the patient’s tumor, serving as a “cancer vaccine.” Cancer research on intratumoral immunotherapy has shown that it increased the response rate to tumor regression and reduced the adverse harmful side effects associated with traditional cancer treatment. The intratumoral injection should not harm healthy cells and instead, work to only attack the tumor itself.
If you or a loved one are seeking cancer treatment, reach out to ITC today and schedule a free consultation to see if intratumoral immunotherapy may be a fit.
